Rap Almanac is a big data platform for searching and mapping all of the words, ideas, people, places, and things that approximately 30,000 rappers mention in around 1,000,000 rap songs.

Built around the cataloging, transcription, and linguistic analysis of around 1,000,000 rap songs, our database provides sophisticated critical analysis tools that allow you to discover and track the emergence, distribution, and circulation of ideas, references, and concepts as they appear in Hip-hop culture from 1979 to today.

Representing fifty years of rap, there are few ideas, topics, or concepts that a corpus this rich does not address. Rap Almanac makes it possible for you to engage with your favorite rap songs through metadata and statistics, allowing you to explore new connections between language, artists, and song content. This makes the Rap Almanac a repository of minable insights whose value only increases as we continue to apply new analysis tools to the corpus.
